May 19  , ‘She’s Not There: A life in Two Genders’ by Jennifer Boylan. Availability: Library (1 at KPL, 1 at KSC) and Amazon one cent.

June 16, ‘The Twenty-seventh City’  by Jonathan Franzen. 1988. Timely fiction, since it is about St Louis, Missouri.  I recommend writing down the names of characters introduced in the first 100 pages – all interesting, but I forgot individual characteristics and who was married to whom when I picked up the book for the next reading.

July 21, The Rosie Project, debut work of Graeme Simsion Novel, 2014. 295pp. bestselling romantic comedy. Availability:KPL has 4+downloadable, Amazon used from 1.14).  Also, CALL people have access to another copy at KSC library.

August 18, a mystery, possibly an Agatha Christie

September 15, To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, 281 pp. ) Availability: KPL 5+ books, Amazon one cent.

Nightingale, by Kristin Hannah ( Elaine ) read by the other UCC book club. 440 pp, another WWII story, may require two months of meetings.

Orange is the New Black, by Piper Kerman (Evelyn) 327pp. Availability: KPL 3 books, 1CD. Amazon one cent.

The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis  (George) Availability: KPL 1 book, KSC 2. Amazon $1.51

Testament of Youth by Vera Brittain-a classic wartime autobiography book by a WW1 nurse written in 1920s. (Alice Kingsbury and George Russell) 688 pages, published 1933 and 2005. 688pp. Availability:KPL has 2, Amazon from 0.96.

A Cape Cod Journal, by Erma J. Fisk  (Rhonda and George were interested)

About the Author

Mark C. Harris joined our staff in October of 2013. Mark, his wife Angela, and their five children live in Keene. Mark has a background in restaurant and kitchen management, and was a manager at the Keene Applebee’s for eight years. Mark oversees the church’s physical property, the financial aspects of the church, office administration, website and scheduling as well as supervising staff and volunteers.
