SUMMARY:Northeast Men’s Summer Chorus in Free Concert
DESCRIPTION:Come and enjoy a fun evening when the Northeast Men’s Summer Chorus sings at the United Church of Christ in Keene at 7pm\, Thursday\, August 8. Concert is free and open to the public. A donation is collected at the end of the program\, to be used by the Church. \nNortheast Men’s Summer Chorus (NMSC) is a group of singers who meet in August each year to perform a wide variety of music—musical theater\, pop\, patriotic\, glee club\, and spiritual selections—in three concerts in local churches. \nThe men and their families come from South Carolina\, New Jersey\, New York\, Connecticut\, Massachusetts\, New Hampshire\, and Vermont. Accompanist Kate Butterfield is a member of United Church of Christ in Keene. Special guest\, soprano JoAnne Mead\, will entertain during intermission. \nThe United Church of Christ is located at 23 Central Square\, Keene. There is an accessible entrance at the back door\, off Vernon Street or the Bank of America parking lot\, with an elevator inside to the Sanctuary on the second floor. All are welcome!

DESCRIPTION:The six-week\, popular program\, Summer Saturdays in the Park\, takes place on July 6 to August 10\, from 10-11am in the Elsie Priest Park and Playground space behind the United Church of Christ in Keene. In years past\, the programs have included games\, art projects\, music experiences\, face painting\, scavenger hunts\, and touch-a-fire-truck. \nSummer Saturdays in the Park has no sign-ups\, the activities are offered to whomever shows up during the 10-11am time period. Leaders are Marty Hennum\, a Youth Group helper\, and volunteers from the Church. \nSaturdays in the Park space is a safe\, gated area with equipment for toddlers and older children. There is parking in the Church’s lot off Vernon Street\, behind the UCC-Keene building. All are welcome!

DESCRIPTION:Church members and friends are invited to the annual All Church Barbecue and Picnic\, beginning after the Sunday Worship Service on September 8. The service begins at 10 am in the Sanctuary and the barbecue begins at 11 am behind the Church\, next to the Elsie Priest Park and Playground. \nThere is barbecue seating outside or inside in the first floor dining room. The menu features hamburgers\, hot dogs\, salads\, and dessert. No one goes hungry! \nThere’s an accessible entrance to the Church from Vernon Street\, with an elevator to the Sanctuary on the second floor. All are welcome to bring friends and join this welcoming and delicious Sunday event!

DESCRIPTION:The annual fall Rummage Sale and Flea Market\, presented by the Women’s Fellowship\, takes place on Saturday\, September 28\, at the United Church of Christ in Keene\, 23 Central Square\, from 8 am to noon. From 12:30 to 2 pm\, there is a bag sale for $3 or $5\, depending on the size of the bag you buy to fill with whatever you find. \nThe sale is in the Dining Room\, Chapel\, and East Room\, all on the first floor of the Church. It’s accessible from the rear doors on Vernon Street\, as well as from Central Square\, but there are stairs at that entrance. \nProceeds from the sale go to non-profit organizations in Keene. Visit our sale for the good community spirit and the good buys!
