Position Overview
The United Church of Christ in Keene, NH is excited to launch its search for a new Church Administrator. After years of exceptional leadership, we are seeking a gifted and dynamic new leader to manage the operations of our 350-member church. Our ideal candidate will enjoy working in a progressive, open and affirming, entrepreneurial, and team-centered environment. In this position you will direct a small and dedicated staff, while interacting with church members, volunteers, and community leaders.
This is not your traditional 9-5 position! It requires maturity, energy, flexibility, patience, positivity, a sense of commitment, compassion, and a profound ability to manage a wide array of responsibilities. You will work collaboratively with our Senior Minister, incredible staff team, Property, Finance, Safety, and Stewardship Committees, and Church Council leaders.
This full-time position includes a competitive salary package, health benefit reimbursement, an optional 403b plan, and generous time off. Proximity to the Keene area is essential to fulfilling the potential inherent in this position.
In your role as Church Administrator, you will:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of our historic building, including scheduling and logistically supporting internal and external events, meetings, concerts, support groups, weekly worship, etc.
- Work with our Property Committee, coordinating and supervising the day-to-day maintenance and management of our physical assets (buildings, grounds, and systems).
- Work with our Safety Committee, coordinating safety and security measures.
- Develop and/or oversee church communications, including our website, social media accounts, weekly, monthly, and special e-blasts and newsletters, marketing and advertising, mailings, worship bulletins, and database maintenance.
- Work with the Treasurer, Finance, and Stewardship Committees, managing the financial and logistical operations of the organization, including bookkeeping, payroll, donations, report preparation, insurance contracts, background checks, supplies, vouchers, and the Church Administration budget. Supervise staff and volunteers assigned to these areas.
Basic Information
- Hours per Week: 40 (with seasonal variations)
- Location: On-site (downtown Keene)
- Salary Range: $45,000 – $53,000 (Commensurate with experience)
- Education: College Degree (MBA preferred)
- Experience: At least five years’ business management experience. Church/non-profit experience preferred.
