Maundy Thursday is March 28 this year and is highlighted at United Church of Christ in Keene with the Tenebrae service. The Tenebrae is an ancient Christian service that makes use of gradually diminishing light through the extinguishing of candles to symbolize the events of Holy Week ,from the triumphant Palm Sunday entry through Jesus’ burial. The story is told through readings and music. Attendees will leave in silence and near darkness.
The United Church of Christ in Keene is located at 23 Central Square. There is an accessible entrance at the rear, from Vernon Street or the Bank of America parking lot. Once inside, there is an elevator to the Sanctuary. All are welcome.
