Rev. Cindy Bagley Co-Leads Book Discussion on March 18

The Reverend Cynthia Bagley, senior pastor of the United Church of Christ in Keene, will be one of the leaders of a book discussion at Covenant Living of Keene, 95 Wyman Road, from 10:30 to noon, Monday, March 18. She and Covenant Living Chaplain Becky Poor will discuss, “First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers,” by Loung Ung.

Loung Ung is a childhood survivor of the Cambodian genocide under the regime of Pol Pot. Her book is a riveting narrative of war crimes and desperate actions, the unnerving strength of a small girl and her family, and their triumph of spirit.

Pastor Cindy traveled to Southeast Asia and spent time in Phnom Penh learning about the genocide and naming it “one of the most horrific events in human history.”

Copies of the book are available at the United Church of Christ office, 603-352-4136. You’re invited to read this book and/or watch this film, then join others for the discussion with Chaplain Becky Poor and Rev. Cindy Bagley at 10:30 to noon on Monday, March 18, at Covenant Living of Keene.
