UCC-Keene Youth Group Goes on Service Trip in June

The Youth Group of the United Church of Christ in Keene will take part in a Service Trip to Providence, RI, from June 23 to 28. Participants will spend time volunteering at breakfast and lunch programs, gardening, watering and weeding, preparing hygiene and snack kits, and learning at every site about the needs of the community they are serving.

The youth prepared for their trip by hosting three fundraisers for the community: a “Haunted Alley” during Keene’s Pumpkin Festival last fall, a “Winter Wonderland” of crafts and games and s’mores-making during the Keene Snow and Ice Festival in February, and an elegant Pasta Dinner evening in March. Their leaders are Marty Hennum and Dianne Patenaude.

On Sunday, June 9, they will participate in the morning worship service with music, stories, and readings to thank the UCC community for their support for the trip. Friends and families are welcome.

The service begins at 10 am. The church is located at 23 Central Square and there is an accessible entrance at the rear of the building, off Vernon Street or through the Bank of America parking lot. Once inside, there is an elevator to the Sanctuary on the second floor.
