Paintings of the birds and flowers in the backyard of Jim Lambert’s Greenville, NH, home are on display in the East Room Gallery at the United Church of Christ in Keene, October through November 2024. The art exhibit is free and open to the public.
Jim Lambert is a native of Marlborough, NH, and a graduate of Keene State College and Rivier University. A longtime teacher of languages in southern New Hampshire schools, he is a self-taught hobbyist who is inspired by his home’s several gardens, nature’s abundance, the Impressionist painters, and his travels abroad.
His art philosophy is: Art nurtures the spirit; it survives the present; it should be accessible to all. He has won several awards for his art and has displayed his work at various venues, including the Monadnock Area Artists Association’s “Art in the Park” in Keene.
The UCC-Keene Church is located at 23 Central Square, with an accessible entrance via the rear door off Vernon Street. The East Room Gallery is on the ground floor. Call the Church office (603-352-4136) if you wish to visit during the week, 9 am to 1 pm. The church is closed on Saturdays; open on Sundays from 9 am to noon.
